Privacy Policy
Heartprint is private by design: no account, no server, no ads, no analytics, no third-party tracking, and no data sale. What you tell it stays on your phone.
Information the app stores
Heartprint stores your first name and birthday, and, if you add them, your birth time and birthplace (the place's name, its map coordinates and its time zone). It stores your answers to the test and the daily explorations, the scores worked out from them, the reflections you write, the friends you add from their links, and your notification preference.
Where that information stays
All of it stays on your device. Heartprint has no account to sign in to, no server of its own, and does not sync your data anywhere. It is included in your device backup if you use one, like any app's data. Deleting the app deletes all of it, and you can delete any reflection or friend on its own at any time.
Birthplace search
If you choose to add a birthplace, the city name you type is sent to Apple Maps to find matching places, under Apple's own privacy policy. This is the only time Heartprint uses the network for you. Only the place you pick is kept, and only on your phone. Birthplace is optional; without it, the app still works out your sun sign, and your moon sign if you add a time.
Share links
When you send a friend your link or QR code, it holds exactly three things: your first name, your five scores, and up to three signs (sun, moon and rising). It never holds your birth date, birth time or birthplace, and there is no room in it to. Anyone you send it to can read what is in it, so it holds nothing more than you would say out loud.
If your friend opens the link in a web browser, the page on this site reads it right there in their browser. The part of the link that holds your result comes after the # sign, and browsers never send that part to a server.
Share cards
The picture of your result you can share is made on your phone. It goes wherever you choose to send it, and nowhere else.
Information collected by the developer
The app does not collect personal information from you. If you email support, the information you choose to include in that message is used only to respond to you.
Analytics, ads, and tracking
Heartprint does not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or tracking technologies, and does not sell personal data. Its App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.
Notifications
The optional morning notification is scheduled locally on your device. You can turn it off at any time in the app's settings or in your device's system settings.
This website
This site is hosted by GitHub Pages, which may keep standard server logs of visits, such as IP addresses. The result inside a Heartprint link is never part of what reaches those logs. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
Children's privacy
Heartprint is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the app changes. If data practices change materially, this page will be updated before the new version is released.
