Privacy Policy
How To TV is built to be private by design. The app has no ads, no analytics SDKs, no third-party tracking, and does not sell your data.
Information the app stores
How To TV stores the content and preferences you create inside the app, including the shows you track, your watch progress and watched episodes, your watchlist, the ratings you give episodes and seasons, and your app settings. This information is stored locally on your device.
iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud, your watch progress and ratings can sync through Apple's CloudKit to your own private iCloud account, so they stay consistent across your devices. This data is stored in your personal iCloud and is not shared with the developer. iCloud is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policy.
TV data
Show, season, and episode details, artwork, and where-to-watch information are provided by The Movie Database (TMDb), subject to TMDb's own terms and privacy policy. This product uses the TMDb API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb.
Notifications
If you enable new-episode alerts or the weekly digest, notifications are scheduled locally on your device. You can change how often they appear or turn them off at any time in the app's settings and in your device's system settings.
Optional AI features
Any AI-powered discovery features are off by default. If you choose to enable them, you provide your own API key for your selected AI provider, and that key is stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device. When such a feature runs, a summary of your taste is sent to that provider to generate recommendations, subject to the provider's own terms and privacy policy. If you never enable these features, no taste data is sent to any AI provider.
Information collected by the developer
The app does not collect personal information from you for the developer and does not transmit your watch history or ratings to the developer. If you contact support, the information you choose to send in that message may be used to respond to your request.
Analytics, ads, and tracking
How To TV does not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or tracking technologies, and it does not sell personal data.
Children's privacy
How To TV is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the app changes. If data practices change materially, this page should be updated before the new version is released.
