Information the app stores

Deal Hunter stores the content and preferences you create inside the app, including your Wanted list, your movie library and which movies you've marked as owned, price history and target prices for the movies you track, and your app settings. This information is stored locally on your device.

Movie data from TMDb

Movie details and artwork, including the catalog you search when adding a movie to your Wanted list, are provided by The Movie Database (TMDb), subject to TMDb's own terms and privacy policy. This product uses the TMDb API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb.

Optional TMDb account

You can optionally sign in with your own TMDb account. If you do, Deal Hunter can back up the movies you've marked as purchased to a private list in your TMDb account, so your library can be restored after a reinstall or on a new device. This list lives in your own TMDb account and is not shared with the developer. You can remove the list, sign out, or delete your TMDb account link at any time from the app's settings.

Price data from Apple

Buy and rent prices are looked up through Apple's public iTunes Search API. These requests contain movie titles or catalog identifiers and your selected store country — not your identity, and no Apple sign-in is involved. Apple's handling of these requests is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policy.

Notifications

If you enable sale alerts, notifications are scheduled locally on your device when a tracked price drops. You can turn them off at any time in the app's settings and in your device's system settings.

Information collected by the developer

The app does not collect personal information from you for the developer and does not transmit your Wanted list, library, or price history to the developer. If you contact support, the information you choose to send in that message may be used to respond to your request.

Analytics, ads, and tracking

Deal Hunter does not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or tracking technologies, and it does not sell personal data.

Children's privacy

Deal Hunter is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the app changes. If data practices change materially, this page should be updated before the new version is released.
